Testing Phase

There is something to be said about familiarity.  This morning in the first row we practiced our race warm-up in singles and then tested it.  Then in the second session we did the same on the erg.

I’m looking down the barrel of a gun here – I have three weeks of committed training under my best and I am going into a testing/ranking phase…but the amazing thing is that the routine of the preparation for testing has made me calm.

I know what I can do.  I know what I have to do to get the best out of my body.  And, I know that I’m doing all of it now – why?  Because of the routine.

Good luck! Would love to know more details of what you test (and how).

First we pull an erg test, this month it’s a 6K, and then we row 2 by 2K in the single and 2 by 2K in the pair. Add up all five times and you get ranked. I don’t have a pair partner right now, so I get to race 4 by 2 K in the single!

    Ouch! Rather you than me.

    Best of luck!
